Beautiful markings and hound body - ears are not long and droopy - is the only thing. He's very loving, housetrained, great family companion. Sadly, his Mom is expecting a human child and has developed some allergic reaction to him. His people are very sad to give him up and did lotsa searching to find B&B and get him settled in w/ his comfy bed and toys here. He's a great family dog - sure hope you can visit him soon! |

*maybe w/ Italian greyhound? very slim lemon gal. Shy at first and then as she came out of her shell, she's a pistol! If there are children in the family, don't let her sleep in the parents bedroom - gives her more confidence that she already doesn't need. Great with other dogs and cute as a button! |

Sad to leave his family where he's been an excellent pal. Thusfar he is scared and not friendly, so we're just hanging with him, waiting for him to feel more secure and comfortable....He'd love a foster home....9/15/07 he is becoming more comfortable in his surroundings here at B&B. 10/20 he's really doing well - outgoing and friendly with new folks! yea!! |

B&B will be there opening day as a supporting activity during The Riverside Metropolitan Museum exhibitions "Peanuts at Bat" and the "Life and Art of Charles Schultz"! 3580 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside, CA - the museum is housed in a former US Post Office built in 1902 and focuses on local history and culture. Dog Obedience Expert Penny-Scott Fox to Offer Local Classes!
 Penny Scott-Fox, widely known and respected former behavioral specialist for Pasadena Humane, has left the pack to offer fun and games agility classes and dog obedience training classes in Altadena. Certified in Pet Dog Training (CPDT), Scott-Fox Training will offer reward- based classes to help build an extraordinary relationship between you and your dog.
Her Agility classes will be held on Saturdays at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Altadena. Classes will cover a five-week period, and are designed both to be especially effective for hyper or fearful dogs, as well as a chance to for owners see their dogs have a blast. She will also be offering dog obedience classes at Farnsworth Park in Altadena. Initially, four types of obedience classes will be offered, each geared to different age groups. Microchipping Comes to B&B!
 B&B is now able to microchip your dogs with AVID chips! We can do this any open house day/time. The cost is $25. If you have adopted a dog from us recently that is not chipped, there is no charge! Avid Microchips have been used to safely return lost dogs and get them home safely!

Announcing the "Special Friends Volunteer Program"
Some of our dogs are looking for Special Friends – friends who will help them get adopted!
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to work one-on-one with a dog who could use a little "coaching" to help them get adopted. If you are interested, you must have come to B&B as a regular volunteer at least 3 times before you can join this program.
B&B is a no-kill shelter. That means that sometimes a dog can be at B&B for years before the right person comes along to adopt it. The Special Friends program is all about helping these dogs find that special person a little sooner. To learn more about becoming a Special Friend to a dog in need click here...

FUNDRAISER FOR PERLA DOG BEDS!
 We LOVE the Perla dog beds and could make use of any size. Ideally, we want every single dog (i.e. 150) to have either a Perla or Kuranda bed. One of our great volunteers have contacted the National Distributor of Perla Dog Beds and got us a super deal - much lower than we've found anywhere! We'd like to place one large order, so we're gathering "pledges" to order the beds. The sizes range from the small beds for little pooches at $8.75 to the extra large beds for our big buddies at $28.56. We won't know what shipping will be until we get the order together.
The Perla's price (especially with this special consideration) is great and they are very popular with the dogs. They're made of pretty much indestructible plastic with air vents in the bottom and plastic coin type inserts to make them non-slip. We don't ever need the more costly cushions because we are using the pillows you all have already donated! Get in on this Spring Shopping event for the dogs!

Our Wishlist!
We're hoping some of our friends will come through with these much needed gifts:
- Photographer: We need a volunteer who can take good pictures of our dogs once a week for about an hour. We need you to use a digital camera and be able to email the photos to us so that we can add them our website.
- Special people to give permanent, foster and sponsored homes to our Special pooches
- Kuranda dog beds
- Treadmills: In good working order please. Electric is preferred so dogs of all weights/sizes/physical condition
can use them (though the treadmills specifically designed for dogs are frequently manual). We can use any treadmill built in the last 10 years, with a preference for electric folding types.
- Towels (used, all sizes & lots of 'em please!)
- Sturdy dog toys
- Kong balls
- Used bedroom pillows and cases
- Used comforters we can cut into doggie blankets
- Vari-kennels (all sizes)
- 6x6x6 chain link runs - (need about 4)
- Spare change to buy all these things and much more!
- Volunteers: (we always need you!)
